Resident Evil 2
With the help of this Resident Evil 2 walkthrough, you can learn everything you need to know about getting started with RE2.
Resident Evil 2 Complete Walkthrough
Following 2002 of the first Resident Evil for GameCube, 20 years later, Capcom is releasing an of Resident Evil 2, which was released in 1998. Resident Evil 2 is more focused on horror than action. The player controls a police officer Leon S. Kennedy and a young student Claire Redfield trying to survive a whole night fighting for their escape from the Zombie Apocalypse caused by a virus in the Raccoon City. The game engine of RE2 will be the same as the one used in RE7, advancing the gameplay giving you a thrilling encounter taking on with the third person over-the-shoulder camera similar to RE4, providing a more realistic effect to the game.
Locations on Your Map
Your map is not only helpful in telling you where you are standing currently or where the nearest exit to run away from your enemy is, but they are also helpful in providing you guidance on the resources in the room. The map also highlights in three colors. Black, when you have not entered a room yet. Red means that you have left something essential or have not solved a puzzle in that room. Blue, all the objectives and items have been covered in the particular room.
Your map can also indicate to you about the locked doors, which you will encounter many times in this game. You can interact with doors. The blue doors on the map indicate that you have interacted with the door, while the red door means that you have yet to interact with it. The condition or state of the door can also be determined by standing close to the door. The map will inform you why that door is closed and how it can be opened.
Managing the inventory in Resident Evil 2 can be a challenge throughout your game. You will start with only eight slots at the start of the game. This game is all about searching and exploring resources so that these slots can be a problem later on. The things saved in slots will be stuff like your ammunition, grenades, and healing herbs. One way to save places is to mash the spices together to create something more helpful. Gunpowder can also be used as more harmful ammo.
This will lose you some slots. Your keys and knife will take spaces you bear with that. If you understand you will not be using some of your resources for the time being, then you can store that in your item boxes. Later on, you can take it back. For exceeding the limit for your ammunition inventory, you will be given Hip Pouches in the game.
During the game, you will also find gun parts to increase your gun’s ammo capacity and provide you with some free rounds. Keeping these parts enhances the amount of space they take in your ammunition, and since you are already running short on inventory space, you can keep these parts in storage chests.
Knife and Grenade
The grenade and combat Knife or two should always be kept with you in the game. Your knife is not really for use, but it can prove to be useful when a zombie grabs you instantaneously. Pressing L1/LB will poke your knife in the zombie’s head and will send him to back off for a while, and in the meantime, you can recover and also attack or escape him. You can put a grenade in a zombie’s mouth that will also get him off your back.
Sometimes, when you hit a zombie with your pistol and drop to the ground, do not get fooled by that. They can get back up and try to harm you. Always go and poke a knife in them to check whether they are dead or not. If not, then thurst him a few more times with your knife until he dies. In your ammunition, you will see a bar under the knife. Keep a check on the bar as it shows the durability of the knife.
Escaping from Zombies
Ammo is an issue in Resident Evil 2. You have to keep it well all the time and have to consume your ammo wisely; otherwise, you will run short of it in the middle of the fight. Killing is not the only option to tackle a zombie. Either run them away when they don’t see at you, or if you’re in a confined space, then still think you can flee away from the zombie, then hit him on his leg and run away as soon as possible because of a crawling zombie will also cause you damage.
- This game is all about examining each and everything as there are many resources hidden everywhere.
- Pick up the files and notes you find, as they will help you later on with the medallion puzzles and unlock the lockers.
- Pick up the keycards to open the locked doors. You can quickly know which key card can open which door by going close to the locked door and then looking at your map. Your map will also inform you about the key that will be used.
- You can explore your critical items if you are trapped and cannot solve the puzzle. Rotate them and watch under them; you will find the solution. Till the time they are highlighted “red,” that means that they still have a box or door which was left to open.
- When it is highlighted “red,” it means that they now have no use, and you can throw them away and free up your space.
Resident Evil 2 Walkthrough also gives us a saving system. You will find items or kill enemies along with the game, and you do not want to go through that grinding again; save your game. You have plenty of holding slots in your game. There is also an auto-save mode in the game, but sometimes it does not really work, so permanently save your game yourself and if you die due to lack of ammo or want to go back to some location, choose the site from your saving slot. These are all the tricks and tips you should keep in mind while playing Resident Evil 2.
This game is outstanding and has a phenomenal thrill to it. The graphics and visuals are remarkable, and everything is woven with each other masterfully. The journey to kill enemies, become more and more skilled in it, and reach True Ending is very interesting. Moreover, even though there is a large amount of bloodshed in the game, it indulges the gamer in its violent and heart-pounding story.
